6 Marketing tips they didn’t teach you at Business School!

  1. Steal with pride: wether a campaign, a design or a new product, it is very difficult to innovate today and most improvements come in the form of small steps rather than great leaps forward. Be sure not to infringe any copyright but copy, steal and get inspired looking at your competitors and other markets!
  2. Beware of line extensions: often perceived as an easy way to increase revenue without much effort. Reality is they usually fail and end up deterioritaing the brands image and your credibility as a marketer. Be careful.
  3. Create MOMENTUM in your communication: Usually people tend to spread their marketing efforts alog the year. This si risky in the sense that the message might not cut through the clutter and you might have your budget cut by year end. Concentrate your efforts and try to create momentum on your communication by activating different communication channels.
  4. Turn your sponsoring event into a profitable business: why be the main sponsor of an event that makes money and not making any money out of it?
  5. Export: Dedicate resources to export, it will pay off sooner or later!
  6. Use your controller: If you can involve him in every decision, it will be a key asset that will add the financial credibility to your projects and ideas.
